On a basic car alarm systems that uses a simple circuitry technology , when a thief breaks the car door open, the circuit is closed and an alarm goes off. More sophisticated car alarms have added more sensors to capture every possible threat by being more sensitive to light vibrations or pressures. When someone or something hits or jars the car, shock sensors cause the siren to sound. The alarm will go off in patterns Depending on how strong the shock is, t he alarm will go off in different patterns.You may get a short beeping sound to a very piercing , nonstop alarm. The alarm can go off accidently because the sensor are extremely sensitive. An airplane passing overhead or when someone touching your car accidently, for example, or when a something causes the ground on which your car is parked to vibrate.
Whether car alarms systems effectively prevent auto theft or not is subject to discussion. In most cases though, your car insurance company may give you a lower rate for having an auto alarm installed. In some cases, people tend to ignore car alarms because they are used to hearing them go off so much. Studies show that car alarm sounds have become so routine that almost many people don’t notice them anymore. Peraonnally, I know when one goes off in the middle of the night, I usually jump out of bed and look out the window.
Car alarms systems manufacturers are continue their development of newer and more innovative alarm systems that are more proactive. Some of these systmes have the ability to stop or slow down a stolen vehicle or send location signals so that the owner and the police can can learn the vehicles current position.
