Car Alarms Systems Auto Alarm Systems 2010-07-16T07:12:47Z WordPress http://caralarmssystems.caralarmsextra.com/feed/atom/ admin <![CDATA[Samsung impression, the alarm won't work anymore!!?]]> http://caralarmssystems.caralarmsextra.com/samsung-impression-the-alarm-wont-work-anymore/ 2010-07-16T07:12:47Z 2010-07-16T07:12:47Z Me and my Mother have just recently got the Samsung impression. We love the phone but here lately we are having problems with the alarm. Its been working fine but now it doesn’t even go off. when you go to alarms and either select one or make one there is something underneath that that has the option to turn on or off the "auto up". does this have anything to do with why the alarms won’t work any more? i have tried setting alarms with and without the auto up on to see if it would go off…and neither did. is it just my phone going crazy or is it the auto up? or something completely different?

admin <![CDATA[How do I put a AfterMarket Remote over my OE Remote door locks on an '01 F350?]]> 2010-07-15T04:40:46Z 2010-07-15T04:40:19Z Guys,

I need help. I am installing an alarm/auto start/lock-remote and I have it almost complete and I am struggling with the door locks. Can you help me or direct me to help?

The info I have is helpful yet incomplete for my project. I am installing remote door locks on a ‘01 F350 Crew Cab that already has factory remote entry and I think I need to sneak into the wiring already in-place before the relays.

The Question is; What wires and where are they. I hear the relays in the middle of the dash.

Please help,

admin <![CDATA[Car Alarm That Can Call My Cell Phone?]]> 2010-07-14T02:13:33Z 2010-07-14T02:13:08Z Hi all,

I have read about car alarms that can call your cell phone or send you a text message when they are set off, but I am having touble finding any online.

I have been able to find some that have proprietary pagers that you carry with you, but they all have limited range and the pager units are pretty bulky compared to a normal keyless entry key fob.

Does anyone have any leads or information on a cell-phone auto dialer option?

Thanks!

admin <![CDATA[I am having problems with an Auto mate remote key fob?]]> 2010-07-12T04:31:14Z 2010-07-12T04:30:44Z When i got my car alarm installed they gave me 2 remote key fobs. When the battery ran out on the first one, I replaced the batteries but now the remote doesn’t disarm the alram. Luckily my spare remote key fob does work. Does any one know if this has something to do with the rolling codes technology it uses? If so, how do synch up the codes with my non working remote key fob?
Additional note, the dealership did not give me the users manual after I got it installed.

admin <![CDATA[Avg cost for 2002 Ford Windstar SEL repair:Re-attach antenna connection,auto-start,DVD,alarm system wires?]]> 2010-07-11T07:12:22Z 2010-07-11T07:11:14Z When I bought this car used in 2004 (it was previously a fleet rental) the dealer had already put in a rear seat DVD player, but I had them add in a remote starter (which I couldn’t get without also getting an alarm system.) These add-ons have been troublesome over the years I’ve owned this car. The remote starter/alarm system and cheap after-market keyfobs ceased functioning on a regular basis, so after my 4 year extended warranty expired, I stopped getting it repaired and just used the key to enter the car. The radio reception has always been sub-par, but I was told by mechanics on several occasions that there wasn’t a problem with the connection – not that they ever checked. The dealership was in a reception sweet spot – 20 minutes away and I got almost nothing on my radio.
When I had new disc brakes installed and my tires rotated, during the test ride the car shook like there was no tomorrow, and all of a sudden I had no DVD, and virtually no radio (I get one local AM station that’s very "staticy" as long as I’m not driving too near to power lines or don’t have my defroster on).
All the fuses are fine. Hubby tried to get in there to plug the antenna cable back in, but stopped when he realized there was no easy way to pull out the radio panel. He told me it probably will require removing the whole dashboard to get to those wires – which likely explains why the dealership never wanted to deal with my radio reception issue.
Does anyone have any experience with this type of problem? Does anyone have an estimate for what fixing this might cost? All the problems I’ve stated are definitely related to the wiring, and I know that is usually very expensive.

admin <![CDATA[What are some good devices or techniques to help prevent or discourage automobile theft?]]> 2010-07-10T04:33:17Z 2010-07-10T04:31:48Z I had my Camaro stolen twelve years ago, and it really hurt me psychologically.

My friend just had his SUV stolen a few weeks ago.

We live in the Metro Atlanta area.

What can one do to help prevent auto theft?

There are some rather obvious choices, but which one is best? There are car alarms, Club steering wheel locks, etc…what do you recommend?

Also, what sort of insurance should one have in case this catastrophe occurs?

admin <![CDATA[Auto repair help; what is wrong with my car?]]> 2010-07-07T02:10:14Z 2010-07-07T02:08:50Z Heres the thing, the last thing I did was set off my alarm and didn’t have the key to turn it off. By the time I found my key (maybe 10 mins) the alarm was off already. After that I did not turn on my car I just left it at home while I did some errands. When I came home I tried to start the car but it never started. I thought it was the battery, I charged it and jumped it but nothing happened. I checked the fuses in case I blew one out, but they look good still. I’m not sure what else to do besides go to the mechanic. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? PLEASE HELP!
Oh…when I turn the key it sounds like it’s gonna start but just stutters, rrrruurrruurrruruuuur!
Its a dealer installed alarm.

admin <![CDATA[Auto-mate car alarm locked me out of car.?]]> 2010-07-06T00:11:39Z 2010-07-06T00:10:48Z I just recently purchased a used 1995 Toyota camry. Last night, I set the alarm as usual, but this morning the alarm would not unlock the car doors.

The remote is working, and the alarm is giving the normal alert sounds – beeps once for armed and locks he doors, and beeps twice for unarmed – but does not unlock the doors. My keys are not unlocking the doors either, so the alarm must have disabled the locks.

This is a new purchase, and I am not too familiar with the system installed on this car, but I will do my best to answer any questions that arise.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
