auto alarm, can't deactivate my car's alarm?

I have a 1996 mercedes s500, with a viper alarm system. I ran my battery down and needed a recharge. MBRS came out and with their special jump box and the car started rightup. I left the car running for about 45 minutes per their request.

Now here is the problem…once I locked the doors, and am now trying to drive, the alarm system ativates and won’t allow the engine to turn over. I called MB service and they advised me to lock and unlock doors to reset, made several attempts at this without success. I also talked with a Viper alarm tech, and he advised to turn ignition to on, engage the inside hidden botton twice and hold…nothing

MB also said the battery could be low, or who knows…any advice would be greatly appreciated, thankz

Auto Security Alarm system (Viper 550ESP) in bad state (Car inoperable)?

I bought this pre-owned 97 Honda Accord SE that came with Viper 550ESP alarm/auto-start system.

Lately, I’m noticing that the alarm system is behaving rather erratically and its getting progressively worse. Some of the problems I have seen have been: -
1) The system gets armed and then I can’t disarm. The alarm goes off, and I’m playing trial and error. Finally I get it to disarm, but I really don’t remember the sequence.
2) This weekend, I couldn’t get it to disarm. The horn doesn’t blow anymore but the headlight flashes and its still armed. Finally I got it to disarm to the extent that I could start the car.
For a while I was extatic, and gave the good news to my wife. But then I realized I can’t shift the gear out of Parking. Damn!!

Seems to me that the system is in bad state. I can remotely and manually close and lock the doors. But I cannot set off the alarm.

I’m towing the car to a dealer tommorow. Any idea how costly the fix might be? Any feedback will be appreciated

Can I put an alarm and auto lock on my doors for a 96 Civic hatch?

I have a 96 Civic hatch, and an alarm system and auto lock doors are not on my car. Am I able to buy an alarm system and something to auto lock the doors by pressing a button on the key remote? My other car got broken in to a few nights ago, and I’m going to start being a little more careful.

Silencer brand auto alarms – help with disarming…?

Does anyone have information on how to disable a Silencer brand auto alarm without using the remote? Even a website for this company would be helpful, I can’t find a thing on them.

I parked my car one night, came out the next day, and found my remote would not turn off the alarm. I’ve replaced the remote battery and nothing changed.

As soon as I open the door, the horn sounds for a minute or something. If the door is still open, the cycle of honking starts again. If the door is closed at the end of that time, the doors lock and the system re-enables itself and stops honking. There’s a starter disable on the system so I can’t just start it up and drive.

Would unhooking the car battery do it, if nothing else works?
